9 days in the hospital

It has now been 9 days since Alex went to the ER. This week, in many ways, has felt like a year.

Many of us are still trying to wrap our heads around this. Even though it feels surreal, we continue to press into what we KNOW is true… that we serve a God who loves Alex unconditionally and is constantly with Alex and his family. A savior who provides rest to the weary and strength to the weak. It is in Christ alone that we have hope. Psalms 18:30 tells us, “God’s plans are perfect.” It’s easy to challenge that truth in our hearts and minds when facing the toughest trials. But that very same verse goes on to say, “God is a shield for all who take refuge in Him.” Alex and Alissa are clinging to that hope and that truth. The Lord is their shield. They are taking refuge in Him.

He is our ever-present help in our time of need. He is the God of all hope, and we know that He is filling Alex and Alissa with joy and peace as they trust Him. (Romans 15:13)

Alex continues to have pain, fatigue, discomfort, and nausea. Alex and Alissa long to go home, but Alex’s doctors are still trying to decrease his pain and get him to a place where he can tolerate eating/drinking before they discharge him.

Alissa snuck Alex outside this morning to get some fresh air. Those rebels 😉

Even though he doesn’t look happy in the picture, he enjoyed the scenery change! 🙂

He also had some sweet little visitors!

—- Praises —-

  • Alex was able to get more sleep throughout the day today.
  • His color looked better today.
  • He got some fresh air.
  • He got to spend time with the kids.

—- Prayers —-

  • Supernatural Healing.
  • Decreased pain and nausea.
  • Pray for peace, provision, and comfort to Alex, Alissa, and the kids.
  • Alex could eat/drink without pain to build up his strength.
  • Sleep for both Alex and Alissa.

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”

Matthew 11:28-29
