Alex is HOME! – Alissa’s Update

by | Dec 29, 2024 | 4 comments

3 weeks ago we walked into this hospital and were told the worst news we’ve ever heard. Stage 4 gastric cancer with no cure, just hoping to extend life…hopefully up to 24 months.

Yesterday, we walked out and got to go home. But instead of despair, we both feel hopeful. Hopeful for the future and for complete healing. We serve a God who is mighty and more powerful than any diagnosis. We are choosing to believe in the miracle that will give Alex complete healing.

We have already seen him move mountains: our insurance situation, no pain and the ability to eat which has plagued Alex for months, supernatural comfort & experiences, the second round of chemo being so much easier on his body and the outpouring of love and support from so many, near and far! Through all of you, the Lord has blessed us and sustained us amidst the most difficult season and uphill battle we’ve ever faced.

We are so thankful for all of you! We know you will all continue to pray as we embark on our new journey at home and we are so thankful to have such a supportive community behind us!

Through all of this, it has helped us see what truly matters and to be thankful for each day, each breath. We praise our Heavenly Father, to Him be all the glory, honor, and praise!

Rejoice my friends, as we are rejoicing today…Alex had breakfast (no pain, no nausea) and we get to spend the whole day as a family with our kids who we’ve hardly seen in 3 weeks, cherishing each moment! Love you all!

I am so happy to be praying for you! This is Ashley Lewis’s Mom. ( from Eastern University)She has told us about your husband and we are following you on your journey. May God’s peace be with you every day!
She has told me you are very involved in your church. Have you had the Pastor/ Priest, or Elders of your church annoint Alex with oil and have prayers said over him with hands on? We have recently started to do this in our church. It’s very comforting and the whole family can be involved.
