“As one would expect, this will be a rollercoaster of a battle.
We were elated to see Alex perk up yesterday, feel no pain, and have a clear mind. The day was filled with laughter as I saw my husband peeking through. I had so much joy, and it was so much needed.
God is good with how he designed us. Laughter truly does heal.
Last night, Alex ate his first meal of chicken soup. Another huge milestone. His first meal in 6 days!!
Over the next few hours, his nausea and upset stomach grew. It was a sleepless night for both him and me as he continued to throw up and have diarrhea, which is a symptom of chemo.
He is once again in a miserable state that is synonymous with the misery of the pain this past week. I’ve lost count of the amount of vomit bags we’ve gone through in 12 hours. This afternoon, they drained his stomach and removed 750ml of bile, giving him some much-needed relief from the nausea.
Our immediate prayer needs
- For the nausea and vomiting to stop completely.
- We can’t get into MD Anderson until his albumin levels reach a 3.0. We are at a 2.7 as of yesterday. That means he’s not healthy enough to get over there.
- Today is day 10 in the hospital, and we are desperate to go home. Please pray for his health status to improve.
- For the Lord to sustain him in these difficult moments and for there to be joy amidst the hardships.
Thank you.”
