Hi friends and family, Alissa told me this morning that Alex and Alissa were looking at the GoFundMe and were speechless at the immense generosity of everyone. They are genuinely touched by every gift, both on the GFM page and in the other ways people have been giving and supporting them.
So far, Alex is tolerating the chemo ok. He has had some nausea and fatigue that started this morning and has increased throughout the day, we are praying it passes quickly. His chemo treatment will be done tomorrow, and they are anticipating going home at that time.
Today is Natalie’s (Alex’s mom) birthday. She and Rob (Alex’s Dad) came down from NY over the weekend and have set up shop, Griswald style, in an RV in the Clark’s driveway. 🙂 Alex wanted to celebrate his mom and have a birthday party. The kids went birthday present shopping all morning and baked a cake for Grammy. They planned to celebrate this afternoon but postponed the party since Alex was feeling very tired and nauseous. They look forward to celebrating soon.

- They have resolved the insurance issues and can see the Lord’s hand in it all. Recently, they got new insurance, but while in the hospital, they learned it would not cover cancer treatments. When they realized that news, they decided to drop that plan. Because they were dropping a current plan, that opened up the option for Alex to get insurance through his work, which will give him much better coverage! Praise the Lord!
- Alex was able to sleep much better last night.
- The pain seemed to be more under control today.

- Supernatural and complete healing.
- The pain would continue to be under control so that he could eat and regain his strength.
- The chemo would have minimal side effects.
- They get discharged tomorrow before 5 PM so they can schedule an appointment at MD Anderson (he can’t get an appointment until he is officially discharged)
God has given Alex peace that passes all understanding. Alex is confident and rejoices, knowing that no matter what happens, God will be glorified through this journey and that people will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior because of his testimony.
“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. (Rom 8:5-6)
“Because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Rom 8:26-28)
“Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: “For your sake we face death all day long: we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Rom 8:34-38)
I am so terribly sorry for everything y’all are going through! Lord please make Your Presence very real & palpable for everyone around Alex, Alissa, &the children. I will be praying for each one of y’all! For minimal side effects, wisdom for his entire treatment team, the complete eradication of pain, energy, miraculous & absolute healing, Joy & Peace.
