An update from Joe (Alex’s brother-in-law).

It’s Christmas Eve and in the midst of everything, we can’t help but pause and be overwhelmed with the gift of Jesus – Emmanuel, God with us. This is why we celebrate Christmas. 

Alex is gearing up for his 2nd round round of chemo. It starts tomorrow – Christmas Day. Our goal is to have someone praying for Alex non-stop during his entire treatment. Whether here in Texas or halfway around the country… Whether it’s 2PM or 2AM,.. we believe our prayers are both powerful and effective (James 5:16). It is Powerful to agree with God’s perfect plan for Alex and Alissa and effective to support, love, and contend for His healing, peace, and comfort. Effective to experience God’s peace, which surpasses all understanding and guards hearts and minds.

((Helps if you download Google Sheets first if you don’t already have it)). That’s 60-hours on prayer. Prayer without ceasing. There are a lot of slots to fill, but there are a lot of prayer warriors out there. Please feel free to share this. What power and comfort for Alex and Alissa to know that someone will be before our Lord in prayer during his ENTIRE round of chemo.

We’re starting tomorrow (Christmas Day) at 8A and going until Friday night at 8P.  Thank you in advance for your prayer and intercession.

Ways to pray in the next few days:

• Supernatural healing
• Continued strength for Alex’s treatments
• Decreased pain andnausea
• For Alex to be able to resume eating and not rely on IV nutrition
• That this second round is easier on his body, and numbers continue to decrease
• That Alex can be discharged in the next week
• That Alex can get into MD Anderson as soon as they are released
• Alex’s albumin levels to increase (they have fluctuated for the last few days)
• The right alternative treatments for Alex’s body be revealed
• For Alissa and the kids to have supernatural strength, peace, and comfort
• For family and friends as they look to support them

Ephesians 6:10-18 “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always pray for all the Lord’s people.”
